Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began with humorous rap tracks which dealt with the subject of race and sexuality. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood after she released a series of raps. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. While at school, she majored in journalism and women's studies, and was studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included Queef song and the winking NYC Bitchecity tour. The track that was the last one to be connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide which was published in 2015. The singer decided to make a career as an actor after having completed her two previous projects, as an author and musician. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, she landed a number of notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
