Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12 1988,) is a Canadian actress and singer. O'Neil was the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's 3rd season was the winner in 2005. O'Neil is primarily known for her acting role on Syfy as Two or Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin as well as on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama The Rookie. She was voted as a bottom three contestant and two of the finals. The judges were shocked by this and urged viewers to vote Melissa for her singing talents. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil didn't fall back into the bottom three. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a potential winner the entire competition". O'Neil together with Rex Goudie, reached the finals on September 7, 2005. Werner, a judge, famously declared that the headlines for the following day's newspaper will be "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead. Long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie at the grand final results show on September 14, 2005 . He went on to be named the third Canadian Idol.
