
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan was just 22 when she was chosen to be part of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out as runners-up. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and score 20 assists during the same calendar year , becoming the sixth the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan also assisted in helping the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
